Charles Voltz Vallauris Mid Century pottery painted Vide Poche signed

Charles Voltz Vallauris Mid Century pottery
painted Vide Poche signed

Charles Voltz was born in Vallauris in 1923.

He and his wife, Lili, opened their own studio in Vallauris.

They both produced pottery influenced by the current 50's fashion,
which included abstract designs and patterns similar to Robert Picault
... who, in turn, was influenced by the experiments that Pablo Picasso carried out
whilst he worked in Vallauris.

Charles Voltz died in 1997.

His ceramics are totally unique, with a variety of tantalizing abstract designs.
The pieces themselves are very different in shape and design to any other works.
That is why they have become so collectible.

This beautifully shaped vide poche is typical of his style and work.
It is signed "C.VOLTZ" and "VALLAURIS".

Height: 8.5cm/3.25" - Length: 15cm/6" Width: 12.5cm/5"

This is in excellent condition - no other chips, no cracks and no scratches.
