Port Bottle Vase from Priddoes of Paignton England
Peter Priddoe opened Priddoes Studio Pottery in Paignton during 1954. His wife, Mary, and his sister June Grose, became the decorators.
The pottery ran until 1964. Tragically he drowned in 1971.
He produced many "booze" bottles - this one has written on it 'Port'. It is typical of the colourful Priddoe style that became very popular at the time.
Surprisingly, the original cork stopper is still intact, and the bottle itself is in excellent condition - no scratches, chips, or cracks.
His stamp can be seen on the base, although in this case it is not very legible. However, it says:
